Inspired by the culture, the diversity, the chaos, and the stories happening all around him in India, Sumanth started creating monochromatic works in charcoal, sometimes with a hint of acrylic - in early 2017. His renderings in charcoal feature larger than life figurative subjects displaying individual emotions and emotional bonds of people. They convey a sense of tranquility that aims to build a soul-stirring effect.
Sumanth has been trained by artists such as Henry Yan and Dirk Dzimirsky. His work can be described as contemporary realism specializing in figurative art and portraiture.
