This painting of mine portrays two village ladies engrossed in the conversation. The stances and attitudes of the depicted folk are controlled and muted, and they exemplify some hidden understanding and bonding that reaches out to the viewer.
With subtle prints, the women clad in effervescent sarees project an unrivaled sense of authenticity. It depicts an ethereal, rural Telangana, where women wear mangalsutra, and money pouches tucked into their sarees. They sport vermilion bindis, reflecting Indian culture that is deeply rooted. They emulate confabulation scenes in which the locals converse with their eyes and share glorious stories. Their whispers emanate from the painting as we look into their mysterious eyes.
